At the start of the trip.
Plan to arrive at the starting point the night prior since all trips have an early morning orientation prior to the drive to the river put in point. Also all trips provide round trip transportation for the starting point.
Camping / Toilet Facilities
Camping in the canyon is one of the great pleasures of the trip. In camp the activities will focus on learning various relaxation techniques. You will have time for meditation and yoga in the morning and at the end of the day all the while enjoying the wonderful surroundings. You can rent a full sleep kit or bring your own for the trip. Sleep kits consist of a freshly laundered sleeping bag, an inflatable sleeping pad and ground tarp which make sleeping on the ground comfortable. A clean camp toilet and hand wash system in a private setting is the first thing set up upon arrival in camp and the last to be dismantled the next morning. It is similar to home except with a better view and it doesn't flush. A separate day use version is always available for your comfort and peace of mind.
Gratuities
It is customary to tip the river crew if you received a satisfactory trip. The acknowledgement of a job well done is greatly appreciated by the crew members. A tip is optional but as a guideline we would suggest approximately 5% of the cost of your trip.
Meals.
Fresh fruits, vegetables and meats comprise the main ingredients. Special dietary needs can be accommodated most of the time. Contact us with this information prior to your trip.
Weather
Keep in mind that these are averages and rain can always be a factor cooling it down quickly. The best way to make sure you enjoy your river trip is to be prepared. If you follow the suggested packing list you will be ready for whatever Mother Nature has in store for you on the trip.

Cataract Canyon: Day time temperatures average 80º-100º and night time temperatures average 60º-75º
Salmon River: Day time temperatures average 80º-100º and night time temperatures average 50º-70º
