Want to make your own flight arrangements? You can find out which carriers fly from your home city by contacting the airlines below, or shop and compare flights at kayak.com, expedia.com, or orbitz.com.

Loreto (LTO) and La Paz (LAP) Flight Info:

Another inexpensive option is to fly from Tijuana, Mexico (just across the border from San Diego) direct to La Paz on Volaris Airlines. Volaris also provides a convenient shuttle service to transport you from downtown San Diego to the Tijuana airport and back.

Tijuana, Mexico (TIJ) to La Paz (LAP) Flight Info:

You can also fly into San Jose del Cabo, also called Los Cabos (SJD). More airlines fly into Los Cabos and flights tend to be more frequently scheduled and less costly. Many U.S. cities also have direct flights to Los Cabos.

San San Jose Del Cabo (SJD) Flight Information

Need ground transportation from Cabo? If you fly into Los Cabos, you will also need ground transportation to La Paz. You can hire a private transfer service, rent a car, or take the public bus.

The first option is to pre-arrange a private transfer. We can recommend Baja Ground Services, Inc.  Check out their website or phone them for more information, and to pre-arrange your transfer. Transfer time is approximately 2 1/2 hours each way for this service; rates vary depending on the number of people in your group.

The second option is to rent a car at the Los Cabos International airport. Most of the major rental car companies operate from this airport and you can return the car to Los Cabos or drop it off in La Paz. This option is usually less expensive than hiring a private transfer (especially for one or two people) and faster than taking public transportation. The drive between Cabo and La Paz takes approximately 2 and 1/2 hours along a beautiful and scenic highway. You can compare rental car rates at www.kayak.com, www.expedia.com, or www.orbitz.com.

The third option is to take the public bus. It takes less than five hours door-to-door to reach the waterfront in La Paz, and the cost is approximately $45 per person, each way, including the taxi rides from the airport to the bus station in Cabo and from the bus station to your hotel in La Paz. Buses run regularly throughout the day, and are new, air-conditioned and have reclining seats. To use this option, take a taxi from the Los Cabos airport to the San Jose del Cabo Public BusTerminal.  When you arrive in La Paz, you can take a taxi to the hotel or marina for approximately $5. We do not issue taxi vouchers for those flying into Los Cabos. If you want to use this option for a one-way return from La Paz to Cabo, ask your Baja Expeditions guide for details—no advance reservation is necessary.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with further transportation questions or options. We are more than happy to be flexible and make your trip come together for the perfect getaway!
