Packing List:
Clothing
Thermal underwear: top and bottoms, non-cotton synthetic is best like Capilene, polypropylene, etc. Two different weights is best
Warm layers: wool, synthetic pile or fleece tops (at least two) and pants
Warm jacket: synthetic pile or fleece
Rain gear: Jacket w/hood and pants (VERYIMPORTANT)
Wind Shell: raingear can also work for this
Warm Hat & Gloves: wool or synthetic fleece
Shorts & bathing suit: non-cotton
Socks: several pairs (non-cotton), wool, wick-dry, etc
Nylon pants: Good for hiking or on the boat
Footwear
Hiking boots/nseakers for around camp and for moderate hiking
Sports sandals: TEVA style these are optional but nice to have along
Rubber Boots: Also optional but nice to have. Neoprene booties are supplied on the trip.
Additional Items
Tent: free standing, dome style is best. Available for rental
Sleeping bag & pad with warmth of at least 30 degrees. Available for rental
Sun hat & sun glasses
Sun screen & bug repellent
Personal toiletries
Daypack & water bottle
Camera & film
Fishing gear and Alaska license
Binoculars
Please keep in mind the layering system for warmth, starting with thermal underwear and adding layers according to weather and activity level.
