
Glacier Bay 5 Day Escape. Gustavus and return
Day 1 - Pick up at Gustavus airport or ferry dock and go to the inn. Explore before dinner; then orientation
Day 2-5- Breakfast then you will board a chartered cabin cruiser and head for the heart of Glacier Bay. The cabin cruiser will drop the group off to begin paddling the spectacular Tarr Inlet and start four days of sea kayaking, exploration and camping. You will paddle among icebergs, sea birds, and seals.
Day 5 - End with boat ride back to headquarters.
Glacier Bay 8 Day Expedition. Gustavus and return
Day 1 You'll be picked up at the Gustavus Airport or the ferry dock and be taken to the lodge and go for a bike ride, walk or just relax. You gather for a delicious Alaskan dinner followed by a pre trip orientation.
Day 2-7 After a hearty breakfast you head to Glacier Bay. Begin at Bartlett Cove, headquarters for Glacier Bay National Park. By the afternoon you will be comfortable at sea kayaking and able to fully observe the splendid beauty of the Park. Paddling along the Beardslee Islands we often see humpback whales feeding. In the evening you will set up camp on the beach and feast on the first of many delicious meals. Depending on the group's desires, weather, and tides, we plan our itinerary from day to day, covering a total of 60-70 miles. There will be long paddle days due to the number of miles that will be covered on this trip. This is an ambitious journey, and we ask that guests be in good physical condition. You will hike, whale watch, watch wildlife, paddle and explore the vast beauty of the wilderness.
Last Day- Return to Gustavus by boat or floatplanes in time for the afternoon jet to Juneau.
Wrangell 6 Day Escape. Yakutat and return
Day 1 - Meet in Yakutat at Glacier Bear lodge Orientation and overnight.
Day 2 - Our sea kayaking journey begins with an unforgettable bush plane flight. Assemble kayaks and begin your sea kayaking journey.
Day 3-5 - Nature will control your itinerary. Most days you will be kayaking, moving from one camp to another. Sometimes you will have time to drift among the icebergs and watch wildlife and try and take in the breathtaking, tranquil views. The two night camps will allow for day hikes into the hills above the Fjords. These extensive treks take us to the most remote reaches of Alaska's wilderness.
Day 6 - Break down Kayaks and board bush planes for a flight to Yakutat, catch the southbound jet.
Wrangell 9 Day Expedition. Yakutat and return
Day 1 - Meet in Yakutat at Glacier Bear lodge for orientation and overnight.
Day 2-9 - Your sea kayaking journey begins with an unforgettable bush plane flight across the Malaspina Glacier, a mass of slowly moving ice bigger than the state of Rhode Island. We unload and assemble our folding kayaks and begin kayaking. Although there is no set itinerary this trip is unique because the desires of the trip participants and Mother Nature guide this trip. There is so much to explore. Most days we will be spent kayaking, bird watching, moving from one camp to another. You will stay in camp for 2 nights to allow for day hikes into the hills and valleys above the fjords. These treks allow you to explore Alaska's vast wilderness.
Day 9 - Break down kayaks and board bush planes for return to Yakutat, catch south bound jet.
Ultimate "Triple Crown" 9 Day Expedition. Juneau and return
Day 1 - Upon arriving in Juneau, transfer to hotel, orientation and overnight.
Day 2 - Float Plane to Admiralty Island Wilderness. During the first day you will be able to participate in sea kayaking and viewing wildlife in the famous old growth forests of Admiralty, one of the largest pristine forests left in America and with the highest concentration of brown bears and nesting bald eagles in the world. Spend a day at the Pack Creek Brown Bear Sanctuary watching for bears as they fish for salmon. Late afternoon floatplanes will take us back to Juneau. We will gather our belongings and then head back to the airport for a short flight to Gustavus.
Day 3-8- Board a boat for a spectacular ride back in time to a land where glaciers rule. This is our first wilderness "home." A photographers dream, a chance to photograph glaciers, icebergs, flowers and magnificent mountains. Explore a quiet inlet, created by glaciers, where seals follow us with curiosity, delicate Arctic terns nest on shore, and bears often wander along the beaches. Your days will be filled with watching wildlife, sea kayaking, hiking and learning about this beautiful land. Each camping segment will be followed by a night at an Inn. On day eight meet boat on day eight for a whale-watching trip back to Gustavus and check into lodge and final group dinner.
Days 9 - Breakfast and flight back to Juneau.
