 Overview
"This is a once in a lifetime trip that should be repeated as often as possible." Art Hamilton. 84 years young.
When people ask us which trip in Grand Canyon is the best trip we always say that the longest trips are the best trips. And from years of experience we know this to be true. For anyone seeking a high quality experience inside this enormous and most sublime natural wonder of the world, we recommend you go long and go slowly. You'll see that it's not a place to race through. If you don't have the time, the shorter trips are still great fun, awe inspiring and rewarding. But, if time allows (and it's worth making the time) we recommend you see it all once. These trips use quiet technology four stroke outboard motors.
The true full length motor trips are the 7-9 day trips from Lees Ferry to Lake Mead (river mile 0-277 where the Grand Canyon literally comes to an end) . Some of these traditional full Canyon trips are "specialty" trips with a professional geologist, archaeologist, historian or photographer along for your enjoyment.

We do include the 6, 7 and 8 day trips that only run to Whitmore Wash (river mile 190) with the full canyon trips because they take you into the heart of the canyon where you'll visit the real "showpiece" hikes in the side canyons with waterfalls and swimming holes and you'll run many of the biggest rapids on the continent. These trips end below Lava Falls, the last really big rapid on the river. From here at Whitmore Wash you then helicopter out of the canyon and fly back to your start city (Las Vegas, NV., Page or Grand Canyon, AZ). These trips allow you to see most of the Canyon in a shorter amount of time. Some 8 day trips continue past the Whitmore Wash helipad and "take out" at Diamond Creek ( river mile 225). These trips allow a little more time than the 6 and 7 day trips but end before Lake Mead.
